Official Rules

Overview

Zinch is awarding $2,000 to three schools regional winners and $4,000 to the national winner in hopes of making their prom night something extra special. Schools are nominated, voted upon, and awarded the prize based off users’ votes; the schools with the most votes in each of the four regions (North, South, East, and West) will be declared Regional Winners, and the school with the most votes overall will be declared our Nationwide Winner.

How it Works

Zinch is looking to give four high schools a very special Prom Night. High schools across the nation are nominated within their regions for a chance to win a $2,000 donation towards their school’s prom. Students get to vote on which schools receive the award.

Through the ChampSplash app students can search for their high school and find their current ranking in the competition; if a school isn’t listed then it’s up to you to nominate it! Students are allowed to vote once per day. The schools with the most points in a particular region will be announced as the regional winners ($2,000 prize), and the school with the overall highest point total will be declared our nationwide winner ($4,000).

Students are allowed to vote in two different ways. For any school you want to win, a “Vote Up” for that school adds 1 points to their point total; conversely, any school you vote against, a “Sabotage Vote” will deduct 0.5 point from their total.

In addition to casting a daily vote, students can invite friends and classmates to vote as well! Whenever students log on to vote for a school they’ll find a list of friends just waiting to join in on the fun.

Program Duration

The “Zinch My Prom” competition starts Friday, April 4, 2011 at 12:00 AM PST and will end Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST. The winner will be announced Monday, May 2, 2011.

Voting

All voting is public. Users may vote once per day over the duration of the contest.

Users can find their school through the search engine located at the top of the app. Once a user has found their desired school they may cast their vote. Votes are cast under two different options, a “Vote Up” or a “Sabotage Vote.” A “Vote Up” adds one point to the school’s point total, effectively increasing their chance of winning; a “Sabotage Vote” deducts half of a point from the school’s point total, effectively decreasing their chance of winning.

Additionally, students will be given a one-time opportunity to cast two votes on a single day for their school by registering as user with Zinch.com.

Any form of cheating will not be tolerated. Any suspicious activity, as determined solely by Zinch and/or ChampSplash, will lead to disqualification.

Odds

Odds of winning the award may be increased by the number of Friends correctly referred to the ChampSplash app and the number of votes procured. However, such odds will be affected by Friends’ desire to participate in the Program. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES, AND ANY OTHER COSTS AND EXPENSES, ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. The award is provided WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, without limitation.

Payment Directions

Once the winners have been selected Zinch will contact each chosen school to inform them of their award and arrange the proper channels needed to facilitate payment.
